The Rocky Mount Senior Center has earned accreditation status from the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC). The recognition lasts for the next five years and brings the Rocky Mount Senior Center into a select group of only 120 honorees who have met accreditation standards set by the NISC.

Rocky Mount Senior Center Manager Brian Harrell and staff were recognized for their wide-ranging array of fitness, health and wellness programs and services as well as the enhancement of the facility via upgrades and remodeling, and strong marketing and electronic communications efforts with participants.

“This recognition is a testament to the great work done by members of our Parks and Recreation staff,” City Manager Rochelle Small-Toney said. “Accreditation processes are never easy and require a great amount of detail. We look forward to continuing our partnership with members of the community to provide the best Rocky Mount Senior Center experience possible.”
