City Manager Rochelle Small-Toney recognized four employees during a ceremony for the quarterly City Manager’s Award. James Arrington (Public Works), Brian Harrell (Parks and Recreation), Sandy Rainey (Finance) and Gregory Silver (Parks and Recreation) were honored for their outstanding work and ability to excel in the city’s core values of Customer-Centered Service, Professionalism, Respect, Teamwork, Support and Leadership.

Specifically, Arrington was lauded for his dedication and willingness to complete tasks. Harrell was recognized for his leadership and bringing the Rocky Mount Senior Center to the brink of accreditation. Rainey was acknowledged for her guidance and expertise regarding payroll, and Silver was noted for his excellent customer service and wide-ranging skills.

Nominations were submitted online and via email by city of Rocky Mount employees and citizens. The winners each received a trophy and a letter of commendation for their efforts.

The City Manager’s Award recognizes employees on a quarterly basis.

“Congratulations to each of the members of the City Manager’s Award,” Small-Toney said. “They have exhibited what it means to be a city of Rocky Mount employee and have set the bar high for future recipients of the award.”
