The city of Rocky Mount is committed to the beautification of homes in its mature neighborhoods. Part of that commitment is being displayed through the Residential Façade Improvement Program (RFIP).

The RFIP will provide up to a $5,000 non-matching grant for eligible owners to improve the façade of their residential property. Owners must live in designated boundaries and/or neighborhoods, and homes must be at least 50 years old.

No work included in the grant application shall begin prior to notification of approval. Applications will be accepted beginning June 1. Application reviews will begin June 15.

“There have been situations in our mature neighborhoods where residents have struggled to make the needed structural repairs, but haven’t been able to address the exterior, especially the façade,” Human Relations Director Archie Jones aid. “The RFIP will not only aid in improving appearance of an individual home, but also create a renewed interest in the entire neighborhood.”

A list of eligibility standards is available by contacting the city of Rocky Mount Human Relations Department at 252-972-1181.
