Battle Park Master Plan

The City is in process of improving Battle Park through a Site-Specific Park Plan. A park plan provides a conceptual layout to guide future growth and development. Since 1976 the Park has served as key component of the Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation system as well as an important regional recreation and historic resource. The City’s improvement plan has two primary drivers:

  • 1. After decades of heavy use, the park is in need of renovation, and

  • 2. Follow through on the recommendations for the City’s Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan – 2015

The City recognizes there are many citizens, groups and stakeholders that enjoy, and value Battle Park and your issues and objectives are key to a successful Master Plan. The City has selected a firm to develop the plan. Public meetings for the Park Plan will be held in the Imperial Centre Theatre Lobby on:

  • Thursday February 20, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

  • Thursday February 27, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

  • Monday March 2, 10:00 am - 11:30 am
