The Tar River Trail is a 3.9 mile long walking/biking trail near the center of Rocky Mount. The trail follows the southern bank of the Tar River from City Lake on the west to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park on the east. In between, the trail passes through several city landmarks, including Sunset Park and Battle Park.
