1. Aycock Park -1200 Aycock Street. Located at Aycock and Edwards Street on 2.3 acres with a softball field and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

Barbecue Park - Located at 377 Morgan Street.

2. Battle Park - 1308 Falls Road. This beautiful natural 56.5 acre park on Falls Road and Tar River. Rocky Mount's first post office, theatre and the "rocky Mounds" where Rocky Mount got its name are located in the confines of the park. The park has a greenway, a boat landing, 3 picnic shelters, and overlook, playground equipment, 4 parking lots, 2 islands, and a gazebo. The Gazebo can be reserved for weddings. 3. Battleboro Community Center - Located at 280 West Battleboro Avenue. This building has a medium size meeting space and is ideal for group rentals. Click HERE for driving directions.

4. Bea Holman Park - 1030 Star Street. This 1.5 acre park is located on N. Harris and Star Streets. It has a small shelter, a play field, playground equipment, and a lighted basketball court. Click HERE for driving directions.

5. Booker T Washington Community Center - 721 Pennsylvania Avenue. This 4.2 acre site is located on Carolina and Pennsylvania Avenue. The center has a gym, auditorium, meeting rooms, arts and crafts room, game room, TV room, exercise room, kitchen, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

7. Branch Street Park - 1731 Branch Street. This is a Small park with playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

8. Braswell Park - 411 Hickory Street. This 2 Acre Park with a stream in the middle is the city's oldest park. It has azalea beds, playground, and a band stand. Click HERE for driving directions.

9. Buck Leonard Park - 929 S. Grace Street. This 4.1 acre park is located on Grace and High Streets. It has a picnic shelter, tot lot, playground equipment, Little League baseball field, and a lighted basketball court. The park is named from Rocky Mount's Baseball Hall of Fame Player, Buck Leonard. 10. Charter Oaks Park - 1717 Neville Lane. This 3.5 acre park is located on Neville Lane and Tar River. It has a picnic shelter, a lighted basketball court and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

11. City Administrative Complex - 331 S. Franklin Street. This 119,000 square foot facility houses all city department main offices, as well as the police department. Click HERE for driving directions.

12. City Lake Park - Lake Drive, off of Sunset Avenue. This 20 acre park located on Sunset Avenue at the Tar River serves as the "mirror" of the City. Fishing and radio controlled boats are permitted. The park includes a ½ mile walkway, two fishing piers, island with gazebo, and lighted fountain. The park is a popular setting for weddings. 13. Cloverdale Park - 1701 Cloverdale Drive. This park of 3.5 acres is located off Farmington Road. It has a picnic shelter, basketball court, baseball backstop, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

14. Daughtridge Park - 1142 Cokey Road. This park has 2.5 acres and borders Cokey Road and Old Wilson Road. It has softball field and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

15. Denton Street Pool - 1434 Denton Street. Features 8-25 yard competitive lanes, zero-depth entry, spray-ground elements, water slides, diving boards, state of the art bath house, including a family dressing area. See details at the bottom of this page.

16. Eastern Avenue Park - Located next to Pineview Cemetery. It has 2 lighted tennis courts, picnic shelter, playground equipment, lighted softball field, and a little leaguer baseball field. Click HERE for driving directions.

17. Englewood Park - 300 Old Mill Road. This 18.5 acre park is located on Forest Hill Avenue and Old Mill Road. It has a lighted softball/baseball field, soccer field, Little League baseball field, 2 picnic shelters, playground equipment, ¼ Mile trail, 4 lighted tennis courts, and a lighted basketball court. 18. Farmington Park - 319 Wellington Drive. Adjacent to Winstead Elementary School and located on 32.9 acres, with a little league field with dugouts, lights, batting cages, playground equipment for ages 5-12 and an 18 hole disc golf course. Click HERE for driving directions.

19. Grover Lucas Park - 551 S. Halifax Road. This park is located off Halifax Road, just off Sunset Ave. The 10.5 acres park includes playground equipment, play field, picnic shelter, 2 lighted Little League baseball fields, a basketball court, and restrooms (formerly Easonburg Park). 20. Historic Tree Park - 962 Bethlehem Road. This 7.4 acre park is located on the north side of Bethlehem Road at the Tar River. It features a walking trail that passes by a number of trees with historic interest. Click HERE for driving directions.

21. Holly Street Park - 315 Olive Street. This 3.4 acre park is located at Holly and Olive Streets. It has a picnic shelter, lighted basketball court, baseball backstop, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

22. Home Street Park - 2281 S. Bailey Street. This 2.7 acre park is located at the end of Home Street. It has a picnic shelter, lighted basketball court, playground equipment, and a small play field. Click HERE for driving directions.

23. Hornbeam Park - 150 Cunningham Drive. This 10.5 acre park is located on Cunningham Drive and has a lighted softball field, lighted Little League field, restroom facilities, picnic shelter, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

24. Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences - 270 Gay Street. The historic facility opened in January of 2006 houses the Arts Center (10 art galleries, and education facility and a state of the art Theatre along with Children's Museum and Science Center. The Imperial Centre will also be the future home of the Buck Leonard Baseball Exhibit and the Imperial Centre Café. Click HERE for driving directions.

 25. Jack Laughery Park - 321 N. Church Street. This park dedicated in November of 2007 is home of the Rocky Mount Veterans Memorial. Click HERE for driving directions.

26. Kite Street - 431 Branch Street. This 1 acre site, located on Marigold Street, has playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

27. Lancaster Park - 1509 Barnes Street. This 4.2 acre park has a basketball court, playground equipment, and a baseball backstop. Click HERE for driving directions.

28. Marigold Park - 900 Redgate Avenue. This 4.1 acre park is located at the eastern end of Marigold Street and on Edgewood Street. It has lots of shade, a picnic shelter, 3 tennis courts, a small play field, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

29. Martin Luther King Jr. Park - 800 East Virginia Street. This 28 acre park is located on Leggett Road and is bounded by Virginia Street to the south. It features the Martin Luther King Memorial, paths, benches, fields for walking or picnicking, and two picnic shelters. Click HERE for driving directions.

30. Meadowbrook Park - 1742 Bedford Road. This 9.6 acre park is located on Glendale and Lynn Avenue. It has a picnic shelter, playground equipment, a lighted basketball court, 4 lighted tennis courts, and a lighted baseball field. Click HERE for driving directions.

31. Oakwood Drive Mini Park - 1214 Eastern Avenue. This .3 of an acre park has lots of shade, benches, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

32. Patterson Drive Park - 101 N. Englewood Drive. This 3.6 acre park is located on Patterson Drive and Sunset Avenue. It features a small creek, park benches, and lots of shade. Click HERE for driving directions.

33. Powell Park - 901 Tessie Street. This .4 acre site is located on Nugent and Tessie Streets. It has a half basketball court, benches and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

34. R.M. Wilson Gym - Athletic Offices- 311 Hill Street. This .5 acre site, located on Hill Street and Arlington Street, houses the Athletic Division offices and features a gymnasium. Click HERE for driving directions.

35. Senior Center - 427 S Church Street. This facility is located next to the train station in downtown Rocky Mount. The center is open M-Th 8 am - 7 pm, Fri 8 am - 5 pm. It houses a gym, kitchen, game room, 2 exercise rooms, arts and crafts room, TV room, and meeting rooms. Click HERE for driving directions.

36. South Rocky Mount Community Center and Park - 517 Ravenwood Drive. This facility is located off Highway 97 West on Ravenwood Drive and Boone Street. The center is open seven days a week and houses a gym, kitchen, game room, 2 exercise rooms, arts and crafts room, TV room, and meeting rooms. The park includes 2 lighted softball fields, concession stand, lighted basketball court, volleyball, horse shoe pits, a Little League field, and 4 lighted tennis courts. 37. Southside Park - 487 Clayton Street. This 6.6 acre park located on Clayton Street, and at the western end of Amos Street. It has a play field, picnic shelter, lighted basketball court, one tennis court, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

38. Sports Complex - 600 Independence Drive. This complex officially opened in March of 2007 has 6 youth baseball fields, 4 softball fields, 1 large baseball field and 2 concession areas with bathrooms, umpire lounges, electronic scoreboards, two outdoor basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and a walking trail. The next phase of this complex will consist of 8 soccer fields, the first 4 to be completed by Spring 2009. Click HERE for driving directions.

39. Stith-Talbert Park - 729 Pennsylvania Avenue. This 28.33 acre park located on Tar River, Spruce and Atlantic Avenue has playground equipment, 3 picnic shelters/grill, lights and electrical outlets, 2 lighted basketball court, concession stand/restrooms, 4 lighted tennis courts, a tennis backboard, a fishing pier, a Little League field, 1 lighted baseball field, and 1 lighted soccer field, concrete entertainment stage with electrical outlets, walking/bike trail. 40. Sunset Park - 1550 River Drive. This 25 acre park located off Sunset Avenue on Taylor Street and River Drive beside Tar River is the city's main park. It features a mini train, merry-go-round, concession stands, 2 lighted basketball courts, a boat ramp, 4 picnic shelters (with numerous other picnic sites), a little league field, 11 lighted tennis courts, a sprayground, and a tennis backboard. 41. Sunset Park Extension - 1422 River Drive. This 13.4 acre site is located on River Drive beside Tar River. It has lowlands and a few unimproved trails. Click HERE for driving directions.

42. Sycamore Street Park - 511 Eastern Ave. This .7 acre park is located on both Sycamore Street and Eastern Ave. It has playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.

43. Tar River Paddle Trail - Explore the waterways of Rocky Mount on the Tar River Paddle Trail. The trail is comprised of ten canoe and kayak access locations that connect over 20 miles of the Tar River and Stony Creek.

44. Tar River Reservoir - The City of Rocky Mount operates boat ramps on the Tar River Reservoir at "Bend of the River" and Sapony Creek, picnic tables are also available at "Bend of the River". The Reservoir Warden's phone number is 252-442-6933. Click HERE for driving directions.

45. Tar River Trail - The Tar River Trail is a 3.9 mile long walking/biking trail near the center of Rocky Mount. The trail follows the southern bank of the Tar River from City Lake on the west to Martin Luther King, Jr. Park on the east. In between, the trail passes through several city landmarks, including Sunset Park and Battle Park.

46. Taylor Park - 413 Wildwood Lane. This 4 acre site on Wildwood Avenue has an unimproved trail and small play field. Click HERE for driving directions.

47. Thelonious Monk Park - 106 Dunn Street. This 6 acre site has playground equipment, a picnic shelter, a baseball backstop, and a lighted basketball court (formerly Dunn Street Park). Click HERE for driving directions.

48. Three Sisters Park - 221 Walter Drive. This 16 acre park located in the community of Battleboro has a multipurpose field, picnic shelter, playground and tot lot, a walking trail and two basketball courts. This park officially opened in August 2009. Click HERE for driving directions.

49. Virginia Street Park - 1216 E. Virginia Street. This 3.8 acre site on East Virginia Street is undeveloped. It is located next to Parker Junior High School. Click HERE for driving directions.

50. Western Avenue Park - 209 S. Vyne Street. This 1.5 acre park borders Western Avenue and Vyne Street. It has an open play space, basketball goal, and playground equipment. Click HERE for driving directions.
