SUNSET PARK EASTER CELEBRATION AND HUNT
When: March 22, 2008 at 10am
Where: Sunset Park (Free to Public)
SUNSET PARK EASTER CELEBRATION AND HUNT celebrates Easter and Sunset Park's opening for the spring/summer/fall season. There are traditional activities, anchored by the Easter Egg Hunt, an annual favorite, with separate egg hunting areas for three age groups.
37th INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION
When: July 3, 2008
Where: Rocky Mount Athletic Stadium (Free to Public)
The City of Rocky Mount celebrates Independence Day every year on the 3rd of July. It takes place at the Rocky Mount Municipal Stadium. The night features live bands, entertainment, food and lots of community spirit. The festivities culminate in a spectacular fireworks show. Click HERE for complete details...

27TH DOWN EAST FESTIVAL
When: October 10 - 11, 2008
Where: Downtown Rocky Mount
The DOWN EAST FESTIVAL has become an annual event for Downtown Rocky Mount. The first festival was held in 1982. Visitors from all over North Carolina and beyond come to experience a little bit of Rocky Mount hospitality. Come and experience great barbecue at "Pignatious", the festivals barbecue contest. The event includes entertainment, arts & crafts, exhibits and lots of food. Every year new elements are added such as Tarside Tales.

Christmas Events
CHRISTMAS EVENTS
THE CHRISTMAS PARADE is held each year in downtown Rocky Mount by the railroad tracks. See marching bands, floats and balloons. Visit with Santa Claus. Click HERE for details on this event...

DOWNTOWN WINTER CELEBRATION is held each year in downtown Rocky Mount on the Train Station Commons. See local carolers, petting zoo, and Santa and Mrs. Claus. Free hot beverages, merchant open houses, and giveways. More information coming soon...

WINTER WONDERLAND AT THE IMPERIAL CENTRE. View the Festival of Trees in the main lobby of the Imperial Centre sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. While waiting for it to snow, kids can write letters to Santa and mail at the North Pole Station. Make time for Holiday Magic Laser Light Show at Cummins Planetarium at the Children's Museum.
