The City of Rocky Mount celebrates Independence Day every year on the 3rd of July. It takes place at the Rocky Mount Municipal Stadium. The EASTERN CAROLINA BBQ THROW DOWN is an official North Carolina State Barbecue Championship, and is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition. The event is a professional cooking competition based on KCBS categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork & beef brisket). Awards include Grand Champion, Reserved Grand Champion, and People's Choice Award. Where: Downtown Rocky Mount
The 58th Annual Rocky Mount Christmas Parade will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be collecting toys for Toys For Tots at the Rocky Mount Christmas Parade. Toys For Tots is this year's parade theme, and the parade committee encourages all participants to create their floats and activities around this theme.
