The Summer Youth Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will take place July 20-22 at The Theatre at the Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, 11 brothers and the coat of many colors, Imperial Centre Theatre Manager Brooke Edwards said.

The play will be made up of 47 local, young actors ages 9-18. Various musical selections will span the entire performance along with a narrator.

“This play is uplifting, fun and bright,” Edwards said. “You have the best of a talented group of children in our community. It’s an opportunity for our younger kids to play parts they normally wouldn’t get to play. It’s a show for all ages and a show anyone can enjoy.”

The July 20 and 21 shows will begin at 7:30 p.m., while the July 22 show will start at 2 p.m. Tickets for the shows are $11 for adults, $9 for students and senior citizens, and $7 for children 12 and under.

Past Summer Youth Productions have included School of Rock and The Hobbit.
